How to Apply — Step-by-Step Process

The Graduate Route application is straightforward and done entirely online from within the UK.

1. Step 1: Complete Your Course Finish your degree and ensure you pass all modules. Your university will confirm your completion to the Home Office — this usually happens 2-4 weeks after final results are released.
2. Step 2: Gather Documents You’ll need: valid passport, CAS reference number (from your original Student visa application), BRP (Biometric Residence Permit) or eVisa share code. Keep your BRP safe — it’s essential!
3. Step 3: Apply Online Apply through the UK government website (gov.uk/graduate-visa). Fill in the online form, upload your documents, and pay the fees (£880 application + £2,070 healthcare surcharge for 2 years).
4. Step 4: Verify Your Identity Either scan your BRP using the ‘UK Immigration: ID Check’ smartphone app, or book a biometric appointment at a UKVCAS service point. The app method is faster.
