COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) was founded in 1998 at Park Road in Islamabad. It is a public sector university of Pakistan.

Although COMSATS offers Software Engineering at all their six campuses, it is best to study Software Engineering from their Islamabad and Lahore campuses.

The National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES) is also commonly known as the FAST (Foundation of Advancement of Science and Technology) institute This is a federal degree awarding institute founded in July 2000.

NU-FAST has been repeatedly and consistently ranked among the top educational institutes of Pakistan in the categories of Computer Science and Information Technology. About 11,000 students are enrolled in the various 6 campuses of NU-FAST.

NU-FAST offers the following degree programs in:

  • BS Software Engineering

(A total of 130 credit hours are offered.)

  • MS Software Engineering

A total of 31 credit hours are offered in the program. The eligibility criteria for admissions is based on the previous academic results (60% in Bachelors) and the admission test (40%).

  • MS Software Project Management

3. Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences, Quetta

BUITEMS is a public sector university established in 2002. It has a main Takatu Campus and a Jinnah sub-Campus.

This university has steadily grown to be among the top universities of Pakistan due to its excellent teaching environment and modern research lab facilities.

The course taught in Software Engineering at BUITEMS is a 4-year degree program with 8 semesters. Classes are usually commenced in March and August at BUITEMS.

Balochistan has only one university for every 3.5 million people as compared to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where there is one university for every 528,000 people. The literacy rate in Balochistan is only 30% as compared to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where it is 46%.
