Baqai Medical University was officially approved to conduct clinical courses in 1990 by PMDC. There are not reserved quotes or seats and the admission in the MBBS program is only granted after admission tests, interviews and viewing of school records on a merit basis.

Punjab Medical College (PMC) was formed in 1973 but rebranded as Faisalabad Medical University in 2017. The clinical training institutes associated with PMC are District Headquarters Hospitals, GM Abad Hospital, and Allied Hospital.

Quaid-e-Azam Medical College (QAMC) was founded in December 1971 by the Governor of Punjab. Admissions open for the Spring and Fall sessions for the MBBS program at QAMC. There are currently more than 1600 students studying at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College at various medical degree stages.
The associated teaching hospitals are to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Civil Hospital and Jubilee Female Hospital in Bahawalpur, for the practical training of medical students.
