PBTE is a statutory authority created under “Punjab Board of Technical Education Act, 1958” (amended in 2010). Its primary objective is to promote technical, commercial and vocational subjects at different levels of diploma courses and to conduct examinations based on these subjects. Since its establishment in 1971, the PBTE has been playing a vital role in the development of Technical & Vocational Education in the province of Punjab by improving curriculum and syllabi and conducting examinations. It also provides recognition to new and existing technical institutions, industrial training centers and other allied institutions. The PBTE conducts examinations twice in a year namely annual examinations in April/May and supplementary examinations in October/November. All candidates are required to submit examination forms along with fee vouchers before the closing dates as notified by the Board. The Board is also responsible for preparation of results, issuance of diplomas/certificates etc. Punjab Board of Technical Education ( PBTE ) is a self-governing body which is responsible for the improvement of technical education in the province of Punjab. It regulates, controls and develops technical education. It was established through an Ordinance in 1971 and upgraded to an autonomous statutory body through the Act “The Punjab Boards of Technical Education Act 1971”. The board makes policy regarding technical education and implements it. It also issues admission notices to students for different courses. The board arranges examination centers and provides roll numbers to students. After conducting exams, it issues date sheets, roll number slips and results. The board also provides diplomas, certificates and degrees to successful candidates.
